WALT persuade people to not build a factory on our courts.
I deliberately believe that having a factory on our courts is depressing.
Having a factory is bad because our school will be small. If parents see that it's small they might not they might not send their child to ST Patrick's school. If there is not many children, our school might shut down. There might not be a catholic school in Panmure.
If we have a factory there will be no courts. If there is no courts we can't do exercise and if we don't do exercise we will not be fit and healthy and if we are not fit and healthy were not respecting God. We won't
be able to play sports and we can't play continuous tag. It would sad to us, sad to God and sad to the courts.
It is a bad idea to put a factory here because will be concentrating on the noise. They would not learn much. If they don't learn they won't know how to read. You can't get a job if you can't read. You could die because you don't have money to buy things. The courts help us to live.
If there is a factory on our school our school will be small, our courts will be gone forever and the noise from the factory will distract us and we be dumb. Would you want all this to happen?
I am a Year 8 student at Saint Patrick's School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 8 and my teacher is Mrs Dines.

I know I can do this when I know what AFOREST is and when
I use it in my persuasive text.
A- Alliteration- dogs die because dogs are dumb
F- Facts and figures- At around 1,392,000 kilometres (865,000 miles) wide, the Sun’s diameter is about 110 times wider than Earth’s.
O- opinion- I believe we should not never start school early
R-Rhetorical question- Are you listening?
E- Emotive language- Little kids die because of dogs
S- Superlatives- Dogs are better than cats
T- Threes- Writings cool , readings cool and maths is cool

WALT use non-standard measures to find the area.
I know I can do this when I can follow these steps. They are Draw a shape, Estimate, take a picture of the shape, take a picture of you in the shape, check and write a statement. Here's the statement. The estimation that we made was right. 4 people could fit in the area. We drew an oblong. we sat in the shape to see how many people could fit in the area.

My Awesome Goals
WALT write goals to help us measure our learning. I know I have learnt this when I have completed my goals.
My goal for Reading is to develop skills to identify and link all relevant evidence across the text. This is important because it helps me understand the story The steps I will take to achieve my goal will be, Read for 20 mins each night, Read the sentence twice Have discussions with a partner about the book you read.

find strategies to finish faster and do the easy ones first.
Respecting Others.
In room 5 we are learning about respect.
Room 5 made a brainstorm
of what respect really means. I know I have learnt this when our number
one rule is the true meaning of respect. Our group brainstorm shows what
respect means to us.
